if you look around in burlington county NJ you will find the taxes comparable to Delaware and Bucks and Montgomery township for equal homes. We arre only paying 5200 a year for a 4 bed 3 bath split level in NJ.

lovingvb, your husband can take the train from Doylestown to Camden also. the Septa R5 to Market east, then hop on the PATCO line to camden.. if he works within walking distance from the Camden train station

Good luck Frank.. i'm sure you'll enjoy living outside Philly

hhmm maybe my info is incorrect. From what I saw online, Newtown and other Bucks towns were just below 2%...which is comparatable to Voorhees and Morrestown (only low Tax rate places I would go because of the schools) but Mount Laurel...I saw it was 3.7% and Medford/Marlton were up over 4% ......although I am now looking on the NJ side thanks to all your advice...

...but do you think Newtown would be a manageable commute...no trains for us..we are the driving kind!

there is no city wage tax in NJ. What tax are you talking about?

Newtown to Camden according to google maps is 32 miles and 44 minutes with no traffic. Add another 20 mins for traffic. Far too.

I was referring to the property tax rate. I will be buying a home around $625K so every % point matters!
