Question Commuting from Philadelphia to Princeton

Hi Everyone! I just got a job in Princeton NJ, but my fiance is going to be working for a port Philadelphia. If we live in Philadelphia he can come home everynight. We are also young and want to live in a fun area, so we were looking into the Old City.I was wondering if anyone knows what the commute is like from the Old city/Northern Liberties area to Princeton?Thank you!

If you drive from Center City (which includes Old City), plan on around at least an hour commute each way, likely longer since most of it will be spent on I-95. Also plan on parking in Old City to be limited and expensive.

Would you know if your SO's employer is near the Princeton or Princeton Junction train stations? If so, a relatively stress-free solution would be to take the SEPTA R7 commuter rail from Market East to Trenton for an hour then transfer to NJ Transit for another 15 minute trip to Princeton Junction. It might even be worth the extra $ to take AMTRAK from 30th Street to Princeton Junction and save about 30 minutes between 30th Street and Trenton.

Congrats on the new job! Where are you going to be working in Princeton? My fiance commutes there everyday from Horsham (closer to there than you) and it takes him an hour and 20 mins one way. If you can take the train, I'd do that. The traffic and stress of driving isn't worth it.

Default Philly to Princeton

From Old City you can get right on 95N and head straight up..depending on where in Princeton off of Route 1, it could either be 45-1hr or way more.
Good news is that besides Friday afternoons(esp the summer), the commute will be pretty similar everyday...did it for 2+yrs.
Good luck.
