Philly sports $$$$
I LOVE that Philly has so many sports and venues to offer and thats one of the things that is really attracting me to the area. However, tickets seem way too expensive, bordering on irrational. Are there any cheap seats out there?
I heard the AHL hockey team is now leaving, those are the ultimate cheap seat fun sports games. Is this true?

Tickets for major league sports tend to be expensive everywhere, especially in places like Philly where arenas and stadiums are relatively new.
The Philadelphia area has a long tradition with its "Big 5" college basketball teams: Penn, Temple, Villanova, La Salle, St. Joseph's and recent stepbrother Drexel. Those tickets are bound to be relatively affordable. Temple and Villanova in particular are nationally recognized programs.
According to a popular search engine, it does appear that the Phantoms are moving as the Wachovia Spectrum is soon to be imploded for a new retail/residential complex called "Philly Live!" Different sources say they could be headed to the Lehigh Valley (Allentown) or New Jersey (Trenton or Atlantic City).
If the Sixers, Phillies, Eagles or Flyers offer "cheap seat" specials, I'd certainly want to know myself!

There's always the Philadelphia Kixx, Soul and Wings tickets which are cheaper than the other major teams.

Cheap 76ers tickets can be had if you know where to look. As for Phillies tickets, they are cheaper generally-speaking than all the other Northeast Corridor teams (the two New York teams, Baltimore, Washington, and Boston) except the Orioles.
In addition to the Big Five/City Six college basketball, Temple (Division I-A), Villanova (Division I-AA), and Penn (Division I-AA) college football, and the indoor football, soccer, and lacrosse teams, there are also some minor league baseball teams nearby. The Camden Riversharks (independent) play in a ballpark at the base of the Ben Franklin Bridge, and teams like the Trenton Thunder (Double A) and Wilmington Blue Rocks (high Single A) are within easy driving distance of Philadelphia.
