Limekiln Pike and Church Road in Philadelphia (Oak Lane)
I was wondering what the neighborhood is like at 1700 Church Street in Philadelphia. I am from New Jersey and need to take my 10 year old daughter there for a modeling job. Is it safe for the two of us to go alone? I will be taking the turnpike to 309 and then turning onto Church.

Do you mean in Wyncote next to Arcadia?? If so, yes, it's a safe suburban area.
If it's 1700 Church Street in Philadelphia, I'm not really sure how you're getting there, since 309 doesn't intersect with Church Street. Also, it's mostly residential, so I'd be surprised if there is a modeling agency there, but I could be wrong.

According to Google maps 309 turns into "Ogontz Avenue/E Upsal St." It says I should follow it until I hit Church and make a left. It is not a modeling agency I am going to. It is a place set up for a shoot for a job through our modeling agency.

Hmm....not that I'm doubting you, I just can't find where Ogontz/Upsal intersects Church. On 309 just go south to Cheltenham Avenue and make a left onto Cheltenham (at Ogontz & Upsal). Take that to Broad Street and make a right onto Broad, and then a left onto Erie (actually, you'll bear left onto Germantown and then make a left onto Erie) and that should take you to Church, where you'll make a left. Ogontz curves around a lot, so it'd be easier to get lost if you miss a turn. Unless I'm looking in totally the wrong place (near Frankford & Church, right by the Church station).
As for safety, with the two of you together during daytime it should be ok.

I think we are looking at 2 different places It doesn't look like it is near Frankford and Church. We are going to Church Lane between Ogontz Avenue and Limekiln Pike.

Ah... so you mean Church Lane.. You did say Church Street in your first post.
Especially for a visit during the day, you should be fine. You'll be in a working-to-middle-class primarily African-American neighborhood.

Oooooh ok, now that makes sense (Church Street is more like the Bridesburg area, not Oaklane, which was confusing me). Yes, you'll be fine, and can just take Ogontz straight down. Disregard the other stuff I said.

No problem, there are just too many streets that begin with "Church"!
