I'm looking to rent an apartment in west philly and saw a great one at pine hill apartment which is rented by signature community.

Does anyone live there? I'd love to hear how your experience has been before I sign a lease.

Thanks!

Unless they make a big deal out of recent renovations, I'd recommend against it. Instead I'd take a look at the building on the NE corner of 48th and Osage. I lived there for two years. For a few dollars more, it will be worth it.

Have you heard particularly bad things? I took a look at it and it seemed very nice.

I'll admit that I haven't heard "bad things" personally. I've just never been a fan of any of the apartment buildings along Pine Street west of 48th. I never personally felt as good a vibe about them. At the very least, I'd suggest taking a look at the place I alluded to before making a final decision.

Please avoid leasing from Pine Hill Apartments at 48th & Pine, Philly. At first glance, the apartments look great, and the montly cost is great. Signature Community Properties has an inept staff - both the management and facilities. The leasing staff are rude and indifferent. The facilities staff are inept. The property is poorly maintained and the washer/dryer facilities are so inefficient that most everyone goes to a local laundromat. The miscellaneous trash around the dumpsters is never picked up by the staff. The hallways have no heat or air. Brrrr! They don't respond to service calls in a prompt manner - sometimes not at all! If you have an emergency, be content to wait 1-2 days and be prepared to make several calls before it is resolved. Also, from what I have heard from my neighbors, they are loathe to return your security deposit. Beware! Stay away! Lease elsewhere!

Filthy common areas....hallways.. trash areas..grounds. need I say more? Skyrocket utilities. Common areas not climate controlled. Please go elsewhere. This is an unsafe. Complex.

Incompetent company and dishonest to boot. Be very weary of signature community properties. Don't lease at pine hill apts in west Philly. Run.

check out the Sylvania Gardens and there website is Berger Properties - University City and Overbrook Apartments in Philadelphia and at 48th and Osage ave as they really run a first class operation with great maintenance and nice renovated apartments.
