It's nice until the bars let out or a sports team wins a championship or a holiday when everyone turns out to get wasted and pee in public. I love to go there to party but I sure wouldn't want to live there - too uneducated, intolerant and alcoholic for my taste. Drive futher up Cottman and see how ghetto the area has become. Try Fox Chase instead.

Mayfair is block by block. Not as good as it used to be. Not as bad as some people say. Torresdale north of Academy Road is still a great, wholesome family friendly area with for the most part really nice people.

We moved out of Mayfair six years ago after we saw few unpleasant changes taking place. If you're thinking of buying there stay north of Princeton Avenue and west of Frankford Avenue.

I own a home in Mayfair right off princeton below Frankford - very nice safe neighborhood still. It is true that it goes block by block but if you stick near Frankford and over towards Cottman I find it's all still fairly safe. If you want details on a specific street feel free to let me know, I am always looking at properties in those areas for my clients as investments so I am pretty familiar street by street.

Not bad - I personally recommend staying on the side of Marple thats above Torresdale because it seems all of those streets right below Torresdale that back up to the train tracks tend to have more issues than the ones going above and towards Frankford.
