Jasper St. The 2800 block me and the family would drive down to visit a relative but want to be safe. Should we go?

Not too great. I would not recommend that area at night being near the junkie and prostitution capitol ( Kensington and Somerset).

You should be okay if you keep alert about your surroundings . However,I would keep it strictly in the daytime and I would not give the appearance of having alot of money. Mainly the criminal acts happen between those who are involved in drugs, gangs , crime prostitution etc. Also the area is very racially diverse- about 1/3 white, 1/3 black and 1/3 Hispanic- primarily Puerto Rican and a few Asians so you will not stand out no matter what ethnic background you are. The main point is keep aware of your surroundings cause it is a sketchy area.

I don't see why not, did you hear something negative about the area?

I think you should be fine but I will keep an eye on on your car if the block is desolate. I'm not sure if it is. If the block has most of the homes intact and they are occupied , the chances of something happening to your car lessens especially during the day and thats when alot of the scumballs are asleep.

This should tell you all you want to know about the area

2800 Jasper St. Philadelphia - Google Maps

Do the street view....looks like it is a residential area but like a lot of neighborhoods with row homes, looks like the ones on the end were taken down. Looks like there are some OK cars on the street but who knows how long ago that street scene was shot.
