Default Moving to Souderton Next Week...Have some Qs....

Hello Everyone,

We are moving to Souderton, PA next week from Lancaster, PA and I have some questions. Thanks in advance for your responses and helping us get acquainted with our new community. Please don't feel like you have to answer all. Any information you leave will be more than we know now. Thanks.

1.) I am used to shopping at a Super Center Walmart that has groceries and the regular stuff that is only 5 minutes away from our current home. It's much cheaper than a traditional grocery store. Does anyone know if there is a Super Center Walmart within 15 minutes away of Souderton? Not just the regular Walmart. They limit what food they sell there. Also, where is Target and Kmart there?

2.) Also connected to shopping, where is the closest Dollar Tree or Dollar General?

3.) I am in need of a preschool for our 4 year old daughter and I don't want to go more than 15 mins. away from home. It seems like everything doubles in price up there. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good inexpensive program? She was going to a church run program in Lancaster this past year.

4.) Also, are there any local Mom Groups close by to get involved with?

5.) We are sad to leave our church. We have never found such a great one. Obviously, our concerns are finding a new home church. We were attending a non-denominational Christian church and are looking for something along the same lines. Contemporary worship music, communion weekly, good children's church program, etc...Prefer to be within 15-20 mins. away.

6.) I will probably need to work part-time eventually after we get settled. We don't want to put the kids in daycare. Does anyone have ideas of things that I could do in the evening/nights (that aren't waitressing/bar tending and not a nurse), when my husband gets home from work?

That's all I can think of for now. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Here's a Mom's Club I found on-line The Mom's Club of Telford Here's another link that mentions the Mom's Club Souderton-Telford Main Streets

If I were you, I would just hook up with the Mom's group and they'll be able to help you with everything else!

Default Welcome to the neighborhood!

I live in Telford which borders Souderton and everything you need is within very close proximity.

1. Walmart Supercenter - the closest one is in East Greenville, which is about a 25-30 minute drive from here. There is a Giant grocery store right on 113 in Souderton. Target in Quakertown (309S) about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic or one in North Wales (309N) - about the same distance. KMart - Quakertown (309S) again about 15 minutes (located on 309 before you get to Target).

2.) Dollar Tree/Dollar General - Route 113 in Souderton (in the shopping center above Giant). Another in the Hilltown Crossing Shopping (309N) Hatfield (6 minutes away); Quakertown (309S) in the Trainer's Corner shopping center; also others in Lansdale, North Wales.

3. Preschool - there are preschools galore in this area. I don't know if I can mention any names or not so if this is edited feel free to contact me. I am not familiar with any reputations or prices I just pass by these almost daily.
Indian Valley Nursery School (run by Grace Bible Church), Souderton; Just Children, Telford; All My Children, Souderton; Schoolhouse Learning Center, Sellersville; Kids are First; Sellersville. I believe that some (or all) of the churches I have listed below have preschool programs.

4. Churches - this area is very church oriented and there are several in Souderton. Grace Bible Church; Calvary Church; Freedom Community Church; Branch Creek Community Church. Many more in Telford, Sellersville, Perkasie, Harleysville, Hatfield (all within 15 minutes of Souderton).

5. Part-time jobs - not knowing what your background is and your pay requirements this is a little difficult but there are pizza shops, donut shops, Wawa, Montgomeryville mall, grocery stores, pet stores, Home Depot, etc. in and around Souderton that would be open in the evenings that you could apply at.

If you search online, both Souderton Borough and Telford Borough have websites. The have a lot of helpful information about the local communities. Hope this helps.
