Something you may want to consider is living at a Boyertown address but in the Oley School District. This is where we live and love it. We live in the rural part of Boyertown, or up on the hill, so to speak. We are only 8 minutes to Boyertown, and the same to Oley. Oley is a great community as well, lots of heritage, alot smaller than Boyertown and more rural but people are very nice. Alot more farm like families in Oley. Oley is a great school district as well, in my opinion, a little better then Boyertown. Check it out, you can have the best of both worlds!

Ok, I actually live in Bechtelsville, which is just a few minutes away from Boyertown, and I go to the Boyertown Senior High. Let's just say that I've been reading posts elsewhere and everybody keeps saying that the Boyertown education system is great, but i don't think they understand how bad it is. I don't know about the behind-the-scenes type of stuff, but I have to deal with what really matters: How the kids are educated. I simply cannot stand going to this school. It's partly the kids, and partly the staff. I'm a senior and I had to get my transcripts sent to college, so during the summer I went in with an addressed envelope, stamp and everything. I asked very politely for them to mail my transcripts. The old ladies in the guidance office made a HUGE deal that I didn't call ahead and they weren't ready. It made me feel really bad, but its not like I needed them that second. I don't care for most of the staff. They are very rude and they talk down to students. Some teachers are very very nice, but there are many others that aren't so much.
I do really like the area, but I'm getting outta here ASAP, b/c its not exactly my cup of tea.
About the racism commments, I'm not gonna lie, everybody, for the most part, is racist or just a little racist around here. I'm not sure how many kids there are in the entire high school, but I can tell you that that there are no more than 15 kids of another race in the entire high school. They have been doing the No Place For Hate thing for a couple years. There's posters everywhere. lol I have heard from a couple people that Bechtelsville/Bally area is like the headquarters for some group like the KKK. I have never seen any type of KKK activity, or any violence for that part.
If you have any questions, I live in the area, so I can probably answer most of them.

Default Boyertown info

Boyertown definitely still has the "small town feel" about it. While you checking out basic statistic websites, please feel free to check others such as this one.

Be informed where you may move you children.
Try Oley or Daniel Boone in Berks County.
