All local news is shot locally. Fox is the only one that is exclusivly local while the other networks also include a national morning show and an evening news show from NY in addition to their local news. Also the 60 minute Fox show is actually 30 minutes and then they just cover everything a second time.

There is something seriously wrong with the whole news mentality in Philadelphia.
If we can get enough input here, I'll link this thread to e-mails to the Philly stations and the dolts can read the opinions for themselves.

THe Philly newscast can't be half as unprofessional as what I witness in Orlando. The news channels have very detailed coverage of the weather around here which is surprising because the weather is very predictable.

I agree that all Philadelphia news is a joke and I try not to watch it. But that ABC new song is a classic. I just have it on for the opening and closing of the show just to hear the song. It should be covered by the Flaming Lips. Picture Wayne Coyne singing, "Move Closer to the World my friend. Take a Little Bit of time......"
Hurricane Schwartz is a jabrony of the highest order!

It has been some time since I've even watched the alleged "news", including Fraction "News" and Tabloid 10's alleged "news".
Once Larry Kane retired -- pfffft!
Hearing them from another room when family puts it on -- I mainly hear their Weather people taking up more than half the "news" casts repeating what's already hap[pened with the weather that day and saying "coming up" a trillion times.
The rest of the "news"casts has totally replaced such shows as "A Current Affair"; "Entertainment Tonight"; and other such nonsense. NOW that stuff and "People Magazine" fodder qualifies as "Big News"! The networks (6:30) are as big a joke from what I can hear. Some stuff about Prez Obama & Palin... then on to hyping some celeb and business (advertiser) or another....
As far as the Tabloid 10 Weather joker, somebody in the Daily News posted somewhere that his fiance', who he found on EHarmony, recently dumped him. (Think it was Dan Gross).
LOL Now that's some real "News" in Philly!!@ Maybe she slipped and uttered "Santa Claus" and "Christmas" in late December!!

I love Philadelphia's local news stations, especially Action News and Eyewitness News, I've never seen so many goofy, unprofessional, hilarious news reporters in my life, and the crazy thing about is is that I actually like it! If you want horribly boring, bland news tune in to Houston's local news stations.... And the intro music to Action News is just freaking classic.

The action news theme is my ringtone. I'm diehard...too bad I don't live there anymore!
The one thing that was irritating about the news is how it dominates the stations. If I remember correctly, Channel 10 news is on from like 4-7 and just repeats itself over and over again. In comparison, the Honolulu news is on for 30 mins to an hour and that's it.
I will admit, the weather forecasts in Philly always suck.
