Plans changed and I'm looking at a different lifestyle for the short term. I'm starting a 6 mo. certificate program in King of Prussia this fall and will stay longer if I like it.
So I'm looking for a neighborhood outside of Philly. I like the arts, live music, museums, vegetarian dining, etc and I'm hoping the city will have a lot to offer.
Where should I go apartment hunting for...
- 30 min max commute to KoP, closer is better
- low cost public transportation options to commute to the city
- relatively low rent (ideally under 600 for 1 br or studio, possible?)
- relatively safe -
not negotiable. (I'm a young, single adult female and want an area not known for high crime)
- diverse demographics OR somewhere I will fit in.. don't want to be outcast
- in an ideal situation it wouldn't be in heavily congested/industrial areas (like KoP itself)
I know very, very little about the Philadelphia area so any information is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
