Default moving to philly from nyc

Would you mind giving me the info; iam completely new to philly.iam moving to philly coming jul1 and going to be working in hanneheman university hospital in center city, i would prefer to live in safe 2 BR apartment (price 1000-1200)about 30 mins away by drive and acccessible by train as well just in case. Could you suggest me some apartments. My research pointing me to german town, cityline ave apartments. But iam not sure how the am rush hr can delay the commute these places. Coming from NY iam not sure if SEPTA can be as reliable as NY subway
I would greatly appreciate your time

West Mt. Airy/Chestnut Hill would be a good choice. There are two regional rail lines (R7 and R8) that come into center city, and it's a short walk to the hospital. Driving would be about 20-25 minutes. It is a beautiful area of the city.

Other good choices would be Ardmore or Narberth. The same driving time, but the regional rail line is the R5.

SEPTA is actually quite reliable (subways, trolleys, and buses). The regional rail system is generally on time toom (except in cases of storms). South Philly, Mt. Airy, Chestnut Hill, and NE Philly are all easily commutable options to Hahnemann.

Hello,

Just moved to Elkins Park, Cheltenham area. Commute is nice. Driving to the hospital may take 30min. or you can take the regional line. Check out
