oh, ay! ay, oh!

When kids get out of line in his class, he'll show them "who's the boss."

On the plus side, maybe some high school kids get some training in acting and entertainment they otherwise would not have had exposure to. And of course there's the aspect of an arts, acting/drama entertainment teacher, provided at no cost to the Philly public schools, what school district isn't short funded on this? And it will probably provide some jobs to some people (students?) to work on the sets, with the video technology, and in production that otherwise would not have happened. And of course Tony Danza and his entourage have to stay somewhere, hotels, meals, bar tabs....

On the negative side, this is a commercial undertaking intended to earn a profit for the production company, and the network airing the ads that accompany the show. A PBS documentary it is not.

Bad, no. I think Sylvester Stallone would have been a much better choice - at least we know he can write well. Danza is second cousin to a turnip.

As an educator, I don't like this one bit. Real kids are going to be used as props. It will be edited and portrayed in whatever way they think will maximize ratings, so it won't even be an honest glimpse at urban school life even though Danza and the producers will talk some happy crap about all the good they are doing. Sure, a couple of kids may enjoy getting some face time on TV, but that and a token will get you a subway ride.

I prefer if Danza would go back to being a garbage picking, field goal kicking, Philadelphia phenomenon.

Philadelphia Phenomenon? How is he a Philadelphia Phenomenon? Is it not slap-in-the-face apparent he's from NY, lol?

Larry Storch( Corporal Agarn on F Troop), George Lindsey( Goober from The Andy Griffith Show), and Tony Danza ( Tony on Cheers)are all qualified to teach and have had similar acting experiences.
