Default Commute from Collegeville to North Wales?

My husband will be working in North Wales. We have looked in Bucks County, and are trying to stay away from 202 north because of heavy traffic in pm. We now are looking in Montcomery...maybe Collegeville. Would appreciate if someone that knows the roads or traffic patterns can comment on the Collegeville to North Wales commute (Horsham Rd.)

It appears the main roads are Skippack Pike (73) an Dekalb pike (202).

Thanks,
Beth

Not a horrendous commute, but not a great one, either. You could take 73E to 202N to Horsham Road. Or, you could cut through Lansdale and come out on Route 309 (near the intersection of 309/202/463, locally called "Five Points,") and turn onto Horsham Road from Five Points. You could also take 113N to 73W to a left on Forty Foot Road to a right on 63E to another left onto Forty Foot Road and then follow 463 to Five Points.

There's many different ways of doing this commute. It's not easy, but it's not impossible.

I'd stay away from the 73/202 intersection personally. Maybe try 363, then cut over to 202 on Morris.

The good thing about this commute is that there's tons of alternate routes to try out.

Lansdale is a nice area, having lived there myself. I currently live in Harleysville and like it here also. My sister lives in N Wales and it takes me about 15minutes to get there. The commute to/from Collegeville could be a headache. Although there are several different routes you could take. 309/Five points can be a nightmare. I have had to wait 10-12 minutes just to make a L onto 463. It can be crazy. I can agree with using Morris Rd and 363 but they can get pretty busy as well. I would consider looking in the Lansdale/Harleysville areas, easy commute...I can tell you 10 different ways to get to N Wales from there! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me!
