How is the city doing,during this econmic recession.I am from Philly and really want to move back home. So how is the job market?

IMO, the job market here is better than in a lot of "older" cities. Philly didn't see a huge job boom in the 90's and early 2000's, so the crash hasn't happened here as harshly as other places.

I think it depends on where you are coming from to gauge if you view Philly as a decent place for jobs.

It depends on where you consider "home". The city proper is hovering at 11% percent unemployment and firms are laying off left and right, or fleeing to the 'burbs to avoid the higher city taxes. Counties like Bucks and Montgomery have fared better, averaging around 7.5% unemployment. Philadelphia proper has one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation. The current unemployment percentage rate is buffered by inclusion of far flung suburbs, and even other cities (Wilmington, Delaware?). Think long and hard before making the leap. Where are you now?

I left Philly in 1998 after high school, i went to college in Ohio recvied a degree in Criminal Justice,lived in Chicago for 3 years. I moved back to Ohio in 06 i have a good job here i am a Coumminty Control Officer which is the same as a Probation Officer.
