Default Can somebody provide information on springfield

My wife and I currently live in philly but we are looking to move to the suburbs. My wife is 7 months pregnant, so we decided its time to start looking. We have our eyes currently on media and springfield. Can somebody just tell us about the area. Is it walkable? good places to eat? how are the schools? Any information you think is important to tell us, we would appreciate it.

Media would be a great place to check out, as the town/downtown is quite walkable with a viable commercial district. The town is quite small (less than a square mile) and other areas that utilize the town name in real estate listings are often outside the town limits and not as convenient. Examples: Nether Providence, Marple Township and Elwyn. Media is covered by one zip code(19063). Media has very convenient access to the city via either the SEPTA 101 Trolley or the SEPTA R3. Good luck!

I agree with Kyle that Media is a very "walkable" area even though it is small. Nice places to eat and shop including a Trader Joes. Springfield has TONS is places to shop since it includes Baltimore pike which is referred to as the "Golden Mile" because its one big road where you can practically buy anything. Springfield school district is not bad, but I have heard that Media is better, but you may want to go out there and poke around the area yourself

Good Luck!

I agree with the others about Media, but I would also look at Swarthmore and Rutledge and even the Chadds Ford area. All have good schools.
