Default Good places to move to around Philly as a 22 yo engaged (26 yo fiance) mother of 2 small boys? We want to move Feb'10

I would prefer to stay within close proximity to Philly, but I need to be in a good school district, fun "grownup stuff" as well as for the boys (3 & 1 yo) & apt rent no more than $900 (2bdrm). Also, bad credit is an issue, tho we have good rental history.

I also do like living in quiet & can go to noise. Public schools, but preferably a good district not like what we are faced with now (Chester Upland Ahhhhh!)

Where will the breadwinner(s) be working? What is your preferred price range to rent or buy?

Sorry - I'm on my phone so I get a limited amount of characters. He is a barber & I will be working out of my home (if I get the job). $900/mon max for renting. No buying.

If you're stuck near Chester, apply for the Chester Upland school of the Arts. It's going to be for K-8, so there will be more resources to work with at least.

I already had CUSA in mind - and they went up to 8th? Great! I hope they really are that good & not just another CUSD school...

Some parts of Lower Bucks County still have decent apartments for under $900. I have heard people say bad things about Bristol Township schools, but Falls Township is part of Pennsbury, one of the best rated districts in the entire state.

The tiptoe around South Jersey continues. For whatever reason whenever anyone asks for recommendations for areas with great schools, the Delaware River gets in the way. Check out Cherry Hill and Collingswood, both of which offer many apartments/houses within your price range, great schools, safe neighborhoods and very easy access to Philadelphia.

Thanks bob & kyle - I was indeed looking @ bucks, but had no idea the rents in some areas would be affordable for us (lol). I also never thought of Jersey just because I don't know the areas that are good/bad, so thanks for the suggestion!
