Default Looking for info on suburbs

Hello
We are a young couple who is looking to relocate from West Chester to an area closer to the city but not in the heart of the city. My fiance works at Temple University Hospital and I am going to be doing rotations at Temple University hospital and Crozer chester hospital. we are looking to purchase instead of rent. We are working with an agent but know nothing about areas. Any info is greatly appreciated. These are the areas that he is taking us to:
Mt Airy
Germantown
Clifton Heights
Drexel Hill
Thank you

Don't know your budget but I would stick to Mt. Airy. b/c it will be closer To Temple Hospital. Drexel Hill is better then Clifton Heights. I guess this is closer to Crozer Chester.

I agree - DH better than Clifton. I think DH would be a good mid point for both of you. Mt. Airy to Crozer would be a hike.
What about Brookhaven? It's a nice little area. Super close to Crozer and fast easy access to 95 can put you up in Philly in half an hour.

Brookhaven is a nice little affordable community, although its tends to be more family oriented - not a very exciting place.

How about Media? Its 15 minutes to Crozier, 30 minutes to Temple. Mainstreet town in the likeness of West Chester but without the crazy college kids. Media would cut your commute times 20-25 minutes compared to West Chester. Cool little town. I would suggest Media before Clifton Heights or Drexel Hill

Default Westbrook park

Thank you for all your input. We actually found a place that we fell in love with in Westbrook Park. Any tips on Gyms in that area??? That is the only thing left to find.
Thanks

Can you tell me about westbrook park. What major street is near? I want to move outside of the city and have seen some reasonable rental rates advertised for this area but I am not at all familiar with it. Is it close to Upper darby or Drexel Hill?

I grew up in Westbrook Park, my parents still live there...the houses seem to hold their value pretty well but the HORRIBLE tile choices in the bathrooms and the prices they wanted for fixer uppers in 98 led us to a little section of Drexel Hill, St. Charles Parish.

That being said, Clifton Heights proper has seen better days...it really is starting to look shabby...which is why we got out while the getting was good.

If I was looking to stay in Delco, I would say Springfield, Havertown, Media, THEN Drexel Hill in terms of desirability...

As far as gyms, theres a LA Fitness? behind the Target shopping center at 420 and Baltimore Pike in Springfield and another one at MacDade Blvd and the Blue Rt...where the Raymour and Flanigan outlet is...
