I am not a big fan of either team since I am a life long stupid Indians fan.
I was kind of torn about who I wanted to win.
I guess I wanted the Phillys because of Cliff Lee and I would have liked to see Charlie Manuel win another one.
But then I kinda wanted CC to be on a championship team also. CC is a real class guy.
I guess the scales tilted toward the Phillys.
CC is the only reason I had any support for the Yanks.
I wish CC and Lee were both pitching for the Phillys.
That would take away any support on my part for the Yanks.
But the Yanks are the champs and I respect them as such.

I wish CC pitched for the Phillies, too!
I have a feeling that the Phillies may be active in the free agency frenzy. They didn't offer Meyers a contact, and that's $12 million they won't be spending next year. That could buy some quality pitching.

$12M doesn't get you much in terms of starting pitching anymore.

Add in the fact they're not going to be paying Adam Eaton anymore with new revenue coming in they should be fine. They could just work in a journeyman as a 5th starter, maybe Kendrick until Drabek is ready. They should use their money to try to bring in Chone Figgins. Imagine this lineup:
1. Figgins, 3B
2. Victorino, CF
3. Utley, 2B
4. Howard 1B
5. Werth, RF
6. Ibanez, LF
7. Rollins, SS
8. Ruiz, C

Figgins is trash. He wants way too much money and has a quickly deteriorating skillset.

Still better than Feliz. At least he'll take a pitch and steal a base. That's more than J-Roll/Feliz can say on an average night...

It depends on which Figgins shows up. He seemed to have taken a vacation before the Yankees series started.

it was unlikely the phillies could pull it off with an injury depleted bullpen and cole hamels and brad lidge having a nightmare of a year. at full strength they can beat the yanks but they're a good team and if you have weaknesses, they'll find them.

At this point he's their best option. Feliz is a constant hacker whose stats only look respectable because of those hitting in front of him. He swings way too much and was a constant rally killer. J-Roll isn't a true leadoff hitter. He's a hacker who tries to hit the ball in the air. He's got pop, he'd be perfect in the 6 or 7 spot. Figgins is a true leadoff hitter (walks and steals) and can do the little things. And he's not much of a dropoff from Feliz in terms of defending. He makes perfect sense. Unfortunately, I have a feeling one of the big 3 (Sox, Yankees, Mets) are going to make him offers we can't compete with.

In all seriousness I just think the Yankees were the better team, though some clown Mutt fans were trying to say we choked (how?)
