My husband and I are starting to look for a new neighborhood. We have rented in center city for many years and now want to buy. We're looking for a single family 3br home with a yard that is convenient to get to center city and has a "downtown" area with coffe shop, convenience store, etc., a sense of community and good schools.
The prices in Mount Airy seem reasonable for our budget. Can someone break down the differences between East and West for us? We've heard Chestnut Hill might fit our needs except that it may be pricey. Thanks in advance for any info |

Hi,
I have a friend of mine who always talks about moving to East Mt. Airy one day. I am not sure what the breakdown is but I think the closer you are to Lincoln Drive Area, the better. Also, any homes with an address number over 70th and above pass the 80's is OK b/c you are right next door to Chestnut Hill. Zip code 19119 is one zip. They may have more zips but I don't know them. This is the big realtor for this area: http://www.elfantwissahickon.com/ Check out the website b/c they seperate listings by east/west Mt. Airy. Germantown Ave. is booming w/ tons of cafes and eateries, really nice places. |
