My husband is taking a job in Newtown; I am going to be staying at home with my 2 kids--where is a decent place to live for a year?

I am looking for somewhere safe with lots of young families and things to do (inexpensively) with small children.
I would like to minimize his commute to 30 min each way if possible.

We would like to spend under $1400/mo in rent, and even less if its reasonable.

We plan to buy a place before our oldest starts kindergarten, so school district is not a huge issue now.

Thanks in advance!

Media, Ridley, Folcroft, Glenolden, or Clifton Heights might work well. Try enrolling in a nearby YMCA as they may have some events too.

Are we talking Newtown, Bucks County or Newtown Square in Delaware County?
