The Edge is the new Temple student housing part of the Avenue North development on Broad Street. Congratulations thats a nice place but as others have said be well aware of your surroundings off campus especially at night. Unfortunately its in one of the sketchier parts of town. During the Fall + Spring semester you'll have 20,000 + other students and the atmosphere will be entirely different than the slow summer sessions.

The edge At Avenue North At the edge of campus, but at the center of it all student housing Temple University just steps away

That looks great. If I went to Temple, I would live there with no hesitation.

There is a great condo conversion that is struggling in center city. You can buy a condo for less than $100k in CENTER CITY WOW!!!. The Units are only 400 SQ FT but to be down town is a bonus. If you are not ready to purchase you can rent a unit. less than a block from The subway that drops you off in the heart of TU main campus. Good Luck. As for the violence. I've lived in Philly all my life and I'm not dead yet.
