I've been calling the Pa unemployment office for several weeks now to check on the status of my claim. I was told today by a representative that a decision was made but she told me she could not tell me the decision over the phone and that I would get the decision in the mail. Does anyone know if this is the usual method of operation? Just seemed odd to me and I'm worried that the news I'm getting isn't going to be good.

Well here in MA they tell us over the phone but each state is different. It might just be their policy. Good luck hope it's been approved. If not, you can always appeal, and make sure you do appeal within the time limits. It's usually ten days.

I was told the same thing, that they can't tell you over the phone. But one person I spoke too let it slip that If i would've been approved that My payment would have been issued that same day the decision was made. Sorry it's hard to be denied when you really need it and can't find a job. I appealed the decision and had my referee hearing yesterday.. I'm waiting on that decision now.. I hope it comes soon
