Hi Everyone

We will be moving to Paoli soon and I will be using SEPTA regional rail to get to work. I work full-time, 5 days/week (regular 9-5 hours). I need to go from Paoli to 30th Street Station.

Can anyone explain to me the most cost-efficient way to do this? What type of pass should I buy? I am confused by SEPTA's web site. How much will it cost me?

Thanks much!!!

It looks like you'll need to purchase a Zone 4 TrailPass.

Thank you!

Do you know if I can use this all hours and days, or are there restrictions? Again, it's not really clear on the web site.

If you purchase the weekly or monthly pass it is all hours all the time you dont have to worry about peak and off peak differences with the passes.

Aw, that's sweet. Well, I will still be poking around here I am sure, although leaving my dear old NJ behind.

FYI - you might also want to check the Amtrak schedule/monthly passes from Paoli to 30th St. The prices are comparable and the Amtrak trip is a few minutes quicker.

Amtrak also has monthly passes that offer discounts relative to the regular fares. The big negative with getting an Amtrak pass is it limits your SEPTA transportation options (though you can still ride for free on Regional Rail between 30th Street Station, Suburban Station, and Market East Station).

In addition to the above, if you have an Amtrak Guest Rewards card, you can earn points towards free Amtrak travel anywhere. If you also have the Amtrak Chase Visa credit card, you can earn the points more quickly. (I finally got both cards late last year and I'm happy I did.)

Thanks you guys. I had no idea there was an Amtrak option. I will have to dig into this! And thanks for the heads up about discounts and rewards.
