depends on where in Philly your commuting to . Its a large city. Closest part of philly to Feasterville is less then 10 minutes, furthest part of Philly to Feasterville is an hour

can anyone speak to the commute distance? jasmineflower mentioned that since the town is essentially an extension of philly, traffic may get bad even around the outskirts of the main city. i'm comparing that with my current situation where i commuted roughly 13-15 min to work and that was a breeze - no major highways i needed to drive on. i imagine that to be different especially with a place that's roughly close to the city.
do people generally live in feasterville-trevose and commute to philly or do they commute from a different suburb?
my workplace will be in trevose, not in philadelphia... that's all i know at this point. guess i'll be finding out this week when i do my second interview there at the actual site.
since it's "feasterville-trevose" i assume both towns are similar in terms of area, neighborhoods, developments, shopping, etc. would that be an accurate assumption? is there one that's a higher cost of living than the other or are they both relatively the same?

so i had the chance of going on my second interview in trevose. from what i could see (i didn't have much time to drive around), the area is pretty nice. seems like it's clean with a suburban feel to it, which is actually what i'm looking for. i flew into the philly airport so it was roughly a 30 min drive without much traffic so that works distance wise too.
i still have to check out places to live (rentals) around the area. people were mentioning that there were a bunch of areas next to feasterville-trevose like langhorn (sp?) that would be nice areas to live.
thank you everyone for your inputs. i am hoping to land this job but we'll see... but if i do, plan on hearing back from me about your preferred/recommended places to live.
My office is in Trevose. It is a convenient area - right off the TPK and US1 plus plenty of shopping, restaurants, etc. If you live close to the major roads near there traffic shouldn't be an issue.
You aren't going to find an apartment with a garage in that price range but you should be able to find a complex with off-street parking in a surface lot. Snow removal usually isn't a huge deal as complexes GENERALLY do a good job clearing the lots. All you would have to do is clear off your car.
I would also advise not living in the city limits of Philadelphia in order to avoid the 4.5% wage tax.
i'm guessing the cost of living there is high (well, compared to michigan anyway). what do you guys think would be a salary that is good for the area and still live comfortably with a little extra on the side?

single guy with a single home? Id say you would have to make at least 50-55k, more if you want some extra toys on the side
