don't listen to a messageboard. get something short term like an extended stay near your job for a month or two and spend your free time really getting to know the area. all the areas mentioned will give you about an hour commute each way. if you don't mind an awful commute 5 days a week, manayunk is a very energentic, hip area. fishtown is doing a nice job turning itself around but i don't see any attraction to that area. center city definately has its different sections. it all depends on what really appeals to you. in the meantime langhorne isn't all that quiet and it's a decent area but it's far from center city phila.

i support this. OTOH, a 6 month lease will get you the same results for less money.

I did this commute in part for a few months, going up 95 to Street Rd. every morning on my way to Feasterville. With no traffic it should take 30 minutes to get from NoLibs/Fishtown to Langhorne. With the moderate traffic headed north from the city each morning it should still only take about 40 minutes.
