I've been summoned for jury duty (federal) next month, and I'm completely unfamiliar with the city. I guess I'll take the R5 from Fort Washington and walk the rest of the way. Should I bring a lunch with me or are there places close by to grab a sandwich? I don't want to wander too much as my talent for getting lost is legendary! If anyone has been through this and can let me know what to expect while I'm there, I'd appreciate it. Every other time I've gotten the jury date, I didn't have to report, lol!

I know two people from up my way (Lehigh Valley) that served in a federal jury in Philadelphia. They both took the R-5 into Philadelphia and had no trouble getting to the courthouse. Just do a google walking map and you'll be fine. yes, there are places to eat nearby.

Get off the train at Market East. That's at 11th and Market. Walk 5 blocks east to the Federal Court House at 6th and Market. Plenty of places to eat lunch, so no worries there. You can go to the Bourse Building at 5th and Market. There's a food court there. Or just walk around the area.

Several years ago when I was called for Federal jury duty in Philadelphia, most of us just walked over to the Reading Terminal (12th and Arch) for lunch.
