I believe people are blessed, that's not to say it's necessarily from God. Some call it luck; some call it fate. It's definitely something.

Yes, luck is the variable, X, in any equation in life.
You can be educated, work hard, but without luck, you might be grinding away forever.

Luck gets untalented people ahead, luck is the reason a lot of things don't make sense.

Luck gives rotten people breaks, and lack of luck gives good people hard times.

If you and your brother live next door to each other and a tornado wipes out your house but misses his...
if you both scoop some potato salad out of the same bowl and yours has a chunk of glass in it....
if you inherited color blindness and your brother didn't.....
if you both bought the same model of car and yours was defective and his wasn't........
if this type of thing happened all the time.....
you'd be able to say he is lucky and you aren't.

Exactly right - there's a reason people say "if it wasn't for bad luck, some would have no luck at all"

I believe that luck is something you can invite/repel with your own words and thoughts, which can be an ally or an enemy. If all you expect is bad luck, generally that's what you'll receive.

I guess I believe that if one is optimistic the chance of having good luck is compounded. That's not to say that some days you shouldn't leave the house no matter how optimistic you might be.

I believe that in such a scenario that there may very well have a certain dose of luck to it ; I also believe that We can do things to better our chances of achieving or getting what we want in life such as applying objective standards of wisdom, morals, ethics, logic, and reason in our daily dealings . Also, having an optimistic upbeat Persona goes a long way to when it comes to interaction with Others.

Perhaps what makes the biggest difference for me is having a good sound grasp on WHO you are and the intrinsic worth and dignity that is yours to own -- something of this nature can only come from a Person above and beyond Us and our finite Universe...that being, having been fashioned in the image of our incredible almighty Creator and knowing that I am a Child of the Most High God supremely loved and cared about to whom i am reconciled with both now and for eternity. His distinctive blessings sure has made a huge difference in outcomes and joy concerning my life.

There is no such thing as luck. There is such thing as good fortune. There are cursed people. I was told everything in this world happens for a reason. I countered with if true, that doesn't mean everything happens for a good reason.

Correct. Things happen for bad reasons whether we choose them or someone else inflicts them upon us. THings can occur for good too. When a person walks with God however, he promises in his Word that :" All things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose " (that being, having trusted in Christ for what he accomplished for each person on Calvary) . How would Aleister Crowley felt about that when his famous mantra was : Do what thou wilt is the whole of the law (unbridled hedonism) ?
