Beauty?
My most favorite philosophical questions though not the ones I take seriously are those regarding beauty. What is beauty? How and can beauty be quantitative? Is there beauty at all? Is beauty realtive or absolute?

Beauty is nothing but a concept. Extremely relative and quite subjective. Do you think the common housefly, while clinging to the window as iif it may crawl through the glass, admires the beauty of a sunset the same as you or I would? I highly doubt it. Beauty is evidence of nothing except the preferences of the individual who finds it as such.

Beauty
1.
the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest).
2.
a beautiful person, especially a woman.
3.
a beautiful thing, as a work of art or a building.
4.
Often, beauties. something that is beautiful in nature or in some natural or artificial environment.
5.
an individually pleasing or beautiful quality; grace; charm: a vivid blue area that is the one real beauty of the painting.
Honorable mention to Kim Kardashi, an adjustment from Penelope Cruz since she got married to that goof.( appearance only , don't know the person

About what one would expect from a dirty old man, you have so much to learn about beauty and reality.
Wonder how much is invested in teeth, hair, makeup, outfit and who knows what else to create the illusion. Nor can you say that someone is beautiful until you know them as a person. You may have a Phd, but there is so much you haven't learned yet.

People who show great vigor and health are good looking and beauties by appearance, as it shows at least some effort at living properly, and not assuming the negative in others for no rational reason. Order is attractive. Disorder is unattractive. A decent mind will act in a positive way toward proper operations, including the beautiful complexion.
If you read my entry definition, it might help.

"Beauty" to me is a placeholder term like "Taste" which actually describes aspects of the observer not the observed. It varies from observer to observer and what is remarkably beautiful to one person is mundane to another. I for one find great beauty in much literature and music. I find very little in artworks that have been painted or sculpted. Yet I know people who are exactly the reverse of that.
So yes beauty really is just a "concept" I guess. It is not an attribute of the thing we are looking at, but of the person or creature doing the looking. As with anything subjective however we will find that there are areas of mass consensus and areas of mass disagreement on the beauty of any particular thing.
The issue Religiously and Philosophically however is that people will take the areas of mass consensus and try and turn this into a claim that there actually exists an objective thing called beauty. The same trick/error is made in conversations about morality. The objective existence of something is wholly imagined and then the existence of god is wheeled in as being the only explanation for that something.

Why is everyone taking this thread so seriously? I have no idea who she is? I suspect that our very own "Just June" with the same hair and makeup would look like that. But that is beside the point. It was intended to be a fun and light-hearted repartee . . . not a serious post. Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.
