I wrote this over the past 6 or 7 months and I wanted to share my impressions with anyone willing to read them. I think this is probably the best place to share this. Please let me know what you think.

The way I see it, we are unsatisfiable by nature because of competition. Higher aspirations are great, but it is unreasonable to expect a creature reinforced by literally billions of years of evolution to act against it's nature simply because they are able to think abstractly.

All life on this world is that way... no tree ever decides "that's tall enough" while it's neighbors continue to grow, no deer stops eating when it is half-full if there is still something nearby to eat and a cougar would kill and eat the last deer on the mountain without ever second guessing it's actions.

Humans are no different... and we will never solve our societal dilemmas because of it. The only way... nature's way... is to push on until we crash and burn, then start again.

Unfortunately, we've made it entirely possible to completely exterminate ourselves with our tools, ensuring the inevitable.

I wish things were different, but in the end we are only smart enough to get ourselves into trouble and too stupid to get ourselves out. Nature's intelligent ape experiment will fail.

Maybe god will have better luck with squid in another 50 million years.
