The thing that really amazes me about the 'child vs. childless', issue is, Who cares?

What is it that makes some people actually believe it's there business whether anyone decides to have, or to not have children? And, that they are of the opinion that their choices in life are the rule that others should follow?

You want kids - that's your choice.

You choose to not have children - that's your choice.

To heck either way what anyone else thinks.

If we lived in a bubble from other people's choices, that would be true. For better or worse, it is not.

Is Being Childfree Selfish?

IMO.....this implies that children are an unwelcome burden....and that those who do not join in the suffering are somehow getting away with something.

Is being child free selfish? Absolutely not. There are couples, like us, who simply did not want children. That is a decision that someone is entitled to make. The end.

Really? You are playing grammar police in an internet discussion while at the same time adding precious little to the topic that is actually being discussed.

Just think about that for a minute.

I would say that actually the selfish choice is to have children.

You are correct.

It's really simple: Ask a breeder to give a reason they had children without the phrase "I want," in it. Hilarity will ensue.

If a person is so illiterate they don't know the differences between common-usage words, I don't think they can form a cogent argument in favor of their point of view.

If you don't like that, you are free to put the "ignore," hex on my posts and you'll never be irritated again.
