Have you ever asked? Or do you just impose upon people who are too nice to tell you that your children weren't invited?

The kind of people I know and spend time with are straightforward and will just say outright if kids aren't invited. If people can't be honest and straightforward with their friends when inviting them to events and tell them that they can't bring their kids then they can't be very good friends really.

Id rather refuse the invitation as drag kids to a dinner party, surely thats an adult night..and kids would be bored anyway.

Just a reminder this discussion was from 2014. I think the poster may have gotten the feedback then.

I don't mind kids coming to adult dinner parties, as long as I'm not considered a jerk for not spending time talking with their kids.
