Yea, I think their is a fable or some story in the Bible about a wealthy man putting all kinds of things aside to store for himself and then he ends up dead anyway. Something about that it is better to store treasures in Heaven instead of Earth. I am actually wiped out mentally right now so maybe later I will remember where I read it, but yoy get the idea, we as people do not own much, we do get to take care of things for a while but at some point we die.

Well this is a philosophy forum......so technically he's right. Unless youre an immortal deity you don't really own anything. You just squat on it and play king of the mountain for a few decades.

No idea, but I have a sneaking suspicion Bruce owns Uranus. Am I right?

You don't believe in aliens and don't believe we landed on the moon? Lol. Religion has really turned your brain into mush, hasn't it?

However I do sort of agree with your first sentence. Whoever can live there can own it.

F.: Some big corporate investment firm based somewhere in Arabia. Who else? I'm willing to bet somebody willing to sink a multi-multi-trillion dollars' investment into developing Mars to a major interplanetary vacation resort/tourist trap has their greedy little eyes set on it right now. Think of the return! Just need to wait for little technical issues like lack of breathable atmosphere and usable fluidic water to be overcome.

So what if it'll take two months to get there (and another two to get back)? That's half the fun. Once the Vogons bulldoze the Earth to put in their interplanetary bypass that's been in bureaucratic limbo for decades now, that might get it down to maybe a week.

Remember: don't panic.

It's probably best to leave the surface of Mars to the Martians.

Of course America/USA owns Mars and the POTUS will be in charge of everything because just like here on Earth the POTUS is the most powerful person. Why should it be any different on Mars?

If you going to post silly threads be prepared to get equally silly responses.
