Absolutely, even for half of that.

I read where the vast majority of lottery winners quit their jobs. Even those who proclaim they intended to stay on their jobs.

Very rare for them to continue at their jobs .

I would quit my job and do something I'm actually passionate about.

I would do nothing. I love the lifestyle of waking up at 3:30pm, masturbating, and then watching Netflix the rest of the day. LOVE IT.
sounds like a plan.

I would do the same with the difference that I wake up early, so I would masturbate at 6am.

And Netflix?? Come on, that's for poor people.

Life begins when you get your first billion. There is much I would like to do, but I lack the financial resources. So I'll have to remain retired.

Great line Neo.

I would retire from work but not life.

A billion? Why... because a few hundred million just isn't enough to entice one to retire?

Your question is thus: why do I do what I do professionally? And the answer is that I work to support myself and my family. So, absent that need to work to provide what we need in life, yes, I would quit my job. I would no longer need to work, and there are a great many things I'd rather be doing than being employed.

As an aside, my monetary threshold for retirement is but a small fraction of $1,000,000,000. And if I did win that much (not that I would ever 'win' that much - I don't buy lottery tickets because I can do basic math) I would give over 95% of it away, which in itself would be a fairly time-consuming process that would undoubtedly take years.

Got to agree with JasperJade. I'd be good on five mil. A billion seems so very "out there", but IF...I'd probably end up running a charity to give most of it away.

Would you mind giving examples of what that productivity would entail outside the corporate environment?
What would you do, more precisely?
