I love toying with such ideas too, that's why I always thought Hinduism/Buddhism and paganism are the least irrational religions.
Oh I'm not religious not in the slightest, but from your " nowhere " remark that got me thinking so that's why it's a nice thought to be reborn straight after as it would be quite boring otherwise
What do you remember before birth? That's a question someone once asked me.
I always wonder this myself. Were we all animals before birth? Are we born again as an animal or human after death? Will we remember anything about our current existence as a human after death?

I suppose when i hear people saying " oh I had a dream about my previous life " that DOES give me food for thought
So your spirit doesn't live on or you don't get a next life?
Nobody knows for sure.
Oh,sure, the religious say "YES" (some even believe in reincarnation, and claim that you will be back as a squirrel or your own great grandson. Or something...).
But the atheists say "NO".
But neither really KNOWS the answer!
At some point in time believers in the Son of Man receive a so-called heavenly body aka spirit body , but
when weighed against the resurrected Jesus who cleverly modelled His heavenly body for 40 days to perhaps 800-1000 people ( many believers) that heavenly body thing gives me a warm and fuzzy. I want to travel around the universe and earth as light ,orb or whatever God desires. Being a unidentified flying object could be a hoot!
