I mean, what if the made-up stuff actually checked out? What then?
yes, we do need to keep making stuff up. But when its not anchored in what we do know we can't make laws off of it. But checking out what we make up? that's called experimental scientist. It would be GREAT!!! we have learned something, and even better, I get to say "wow, I was dead wrong." ... again.

Well, for starters, for death to exist, there has to be birth. So it's already two. For birth to xist, there should be that that gives birth. Three it is now.
Based on what is known, birth is given by two, hence, it is already four to exist.
Logic, OP, logic.
Otherwise, I think you had bad dream and woke up with paralyzing sense of death. Happens, I had it. It is very scary. Until, after years down the road spent looking for answers, you find The Truth and fear death no more.
Welcome to the journey, you did the first step. fear is great motivator.

And what is that compared to infinity, not a drop in the ocean even?.
Our existence here is very short lived compared to the age of the Earth itself.

Keep in mind that not only are humans going to die, but one day we will even become extinct...just as 99.9% of every animal that has lived on Earth has become. It's just the way it works here on Earth.

So instead of fretting about something that you can't control...use your time here wisely and to the fullest.

It gives me a panic attack when I think about death and that I will not exist for eternity.
It scares the hell out of me.
When I think about the fact that it's going to last forever.
Not 900000000000 triliion trillion trillion trillion years, but forever.
That it has no end.
That once I am dead that's it I will be unconciounss forever.
Like an eternal sleep , but unlike sleep that I eventually wake up from in the morning, here I will never wake up, it will be forever.
It simply dreads me.
To think that there will be no end to this.

What scares me here is the eternalness of death.
That it will simply not end.
That once I am dead I will never live or experience anything ever again.
Not in 9000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 trillion years.
It terrifies and frightens me so much.
It's so scary and depressing when you think about it.
Of something that does not end. Simply does not end. Never.
That once I am dead I will never see, hear or smell or think about anything ever again.
That I will never see the sunset, or swim in the sea, or watch the beautiful mountains or taste a good tea.
I am so lonely and terrified.

when you cease, you won't have this concept to worry about.

You are churning over old oil in your brain....time to refresh .

Matter can neither be created nor destroyed. Chew on that.

What do you mean I won't have this concept to worry about?.
It scares me so much this concept of eternal death, something that does not end.
It panicks me so much.

Maybe matter cannot be destroyed , and the physical material that composes our body will be recycled to something else, but our conciousness will cease to exist.
We will simply not be conciouss of anything forever, and that's what scares me so much.

Can you please elaborate what do you mean I won't have this concept to worry about when I cease.

Cake Time is measured in TwinkieDinks which are based on the average life of a Twinkie.
