Easier said than done sometimes. Having targetless anger is hard.

Anger is not simply destructive. It can be channeled.

I'd also note that as a man anger is one of the few emotions I feel strongly. I think women feel a wider range of emotions.

Anger channeled as displaced aggression is a powerful tool. Many athletes do this with consistent 'perceived transgressions / disrespect' against them - whether real, or not.

Anger that builds from ignorance of how systems within our earthly realm experiences work is more difficult if the person cannot address them in a manner to understand what consistently makes them angry. This type can be observed by speaking to any 'true believer' type at either end of the political spectrum on some flash point issue.

One other key component is to know oneself well enough to avoid environments / conditions which may tend to cause anger and understand why they occur. Akin to gaining wisdom, useful knowledge, and understanding. It may not remove the feelings altogether but it can help one in discerning when to take appropriate action or to avoid and seek an outlet such as displaced aggression via physical exertion.

Anger is a choice. No matter the situation, we still have to choose to react in anger.

I see tons of wasteful energy and discord in that area, all around us. And yet what does anger solve? It's usually only in the way of resolution.

One mellows with age. At 60, I find it easier to ignore and even understand those who provoke anger. Not so easy when we're younger.

It only becomes toxic when one holds in anger which is unresolved or 'carried around' as baggage indefinitely - particularly when it overlaps with hatred or contempt. People weigh themselves down emotionally when they hold onto unresolved anger i.e. the more things/people in your life you 'hate' or have to angrily 'confront' or 'let out', the more likely you're an unhappy/unsatisfied person.

The key is being able to address/resolve the underlying problem as anger does not occur on its own; it's triggered as a result of feeling hurt, stressed, betrayed, threatened, powerless, jealous, frustrated, attacked, treated unfairly or whatever.

There is some benefit to having reduced levels of hormones.

Once the mind is free and clear of those external phenomena that disturb us then one is truly liberated and non attached.

yup. I use "hot takes", but its the same thing. When we can go to "war" without malice, we are one step closer to the edge.
