Thumbs up Is There a Purpose to Human Existance?

Why do you think we are here? Is there something most of us do not see? Are we destined to wake, work, reproduce, and sleep until the cycle ends? Are we even supposed to be here?
Also:
On this Fifth of November I ask you: "Is there coincidence or only the illusion of coincidence?"

I personally don't believe so. If we were wiped off this planet tomorrow, the universe would continue on without missing a beat.

Remember, remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason, why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot....

I love that poem, but on a serious note I don't think anyone can answer your question because I don't think an answer exists. I think your life here is whatever you make of it. Personally I feel like I am so well of in life because my purpose is to help share that with others and hopefully make this world a better place. Everyone may feel different about it thats just my take. But I will say that I can't look up at the stars without wondering what's out there, or if there is more to life that just what's here. Maybe someone else is out there, who knows.

Why want to live if there is no point?

Not worth the time to ponder. The question can't be answered. The only thing we know with any certainty is that life is transient and impermanent. Make the best of it until the ride is over.

There's no purpose to life in the sense that there is no objective purpose. Purpose is subjective though. People create their own purpose based on what gives them fulfillment.

Love God, love each other, try to do more good than harm, improve yourself, and find fulfillment if you can. Well something like that, it's a bit of a first draft. If you don't believe in the God part you can skip it I'd guess, but mostly I tried to make it unspecific in terms of religion.

An atheist I once read about felt the purpose was negentropy. This meant fighting against natural tendencies to decline and destruction through improvement and creativity. That you should make something or an improvement, presumably positive, that couldn't exist if there had never been a you. I think he mostly meant art, but maybe it could also include any kind of invention or creative endeavor. Even a really good commercial for streudel, well maybe. I found it an interesting idea albeit insufficient and vague. (What's positive? What's creative without being destructive as well?) Downside is the woman I read about who lived by it, Alice Sheldon, ended up killing herself and her husband.

In a Darwinian sense, and I believe in evolution btw, I suppose the purpose is to reproduce and assure your offspring reach sexual maturity. Or at the very least assure the offspring of your siblings reach sexual maturity. The second might be aided if you personally do not reproduce, but instead use your resources to defend/aid your nieces and nephews. Hence homosexuals and celibates purpose might be to aid nephews or nieces so they can reach adulthood. (As homosexual men are disproportionately younger siblings they have a good chance of having nephews or nieces.) An additional purpose would be to provide water and chemicals necessary for plants by decomposition at death.

I'd agree with your post which is largely a good reason for finding reasons to live without belief in a 'Divine Plan'. If you replace 'Love God' with 'love nature and knowledge' I'd have no problems with it at all.
