Default Does anyone know any place that is hiring?

Hello! My name is Scott and I moved down to the Buckeye area back in January. I have been working at a paid internship at a small business since then and that internship is coming to a close relatively soon. I've been applying for jobs for almost four months now (the internship was originally a 3 month...they were kind enough to extend it for me) and I have yet to receive a single phone call. I don't speak Spanish, so I know that's a big negative for me right there.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in English/Writing (this may also be another negative) and a minor in Mass Comm. I have over five years of management and sales experience under my belt. My current internship is for Marketing and Research. I'm not really set in any particular field as I am mostly just looking for a fun place with friendly people and hopefully the possibility to work my way up. I'm definitely not afraid of a little hard work, in fact, I thrive on it.

If anyone knows of a place that is currently hiring, please let me know, you have no idea how much I would appreciate it. The hard part about being a recent college graduate is just not getting the chance to prove myself. That’s all I’m really looking for, a chance to show someone what I can do. Thanks guys!

-Scott

It is really tough here. Phoenix has one of the highest U-6 (real) unemployment rates in the country. I hope something works out for you. Census work is coming to a close, so that is not an option.

Scotti, have you checked out the tv and radio stations? A BA in English may be used for teaching, but im unsure how far you can get with that. There are some ideas, good luck.

Unemployment stats and accountability is a joke. I know a couple people that could get jobs, but rather just suck the teet of the government. So in my opinion, half the unemployed want to be unemployed while the other half are out of luck coming up here shortly.

Some good suggestions, although teaching positions are very difficult to come by in the area. It's probably going to get even tighter in the future here too.
