Where to live $350,000
We are looking for a nice community for a young family with good schools, and good quality people. We are looking for a home in the $350,000 range. In this price range, and not considering any commuting issues, where would you live?
Thanks

Personally If I were to move back to the Valley I'd head right back to Gilbert again. I've lived in Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Glendale/Peoria, Chandler, Gilbert all in that order. I haven't lived in Scottsdale or Ahwatukee but spend 9 hours a day there for 7 years.

Either Chandler, Gilbert, or N. Phoenix. Each of these communities offers good schools, low crime, and some very nice homes for $350K. You may be able to find a small home in Fountain Hills for $350K which would be my 1st choice at that price point . However if you want a larger place than I'd stick to the ones above.

Last question, and I don't know if either of you know, is there any areas you know that have a jewish community of some sort. We are not that religous, but would like to find other families that celebrate the holidays, so we don't feel that left out around Christmas, etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks again for your help

I know their are quite a few up their in Central Phoenix they have a pretty nice Jewish community center up there on Bethany Home. I also know lots of Jews from NY have settled into the Ahwatukee area.

Is Awatukee better then the other areas in terms of safety, education, and family life. I know someone that says this is the case, is it true?
Thanks

I agree with Sheena that C. Phoenix has a fairly large Jewish population. Where I live in N. Scottsdale there are quite a few Jews but it won't fit into your $350K price range. Central Phoenix might be your best bet.

Not neccesarily, it depends on what you're comparing Ahwatukee to. If you're comaring Ahwatukee to say Mesa or Tempe than I'd say yes but if you're comparing it to Chandler or Gilbert than they're pretty even. I personally feel Chandler and Gilbert are better than Ahwatukee in terms of quality of life, safety, etc but some may disagree.

Anthem (N. Phoenix NOT Florence), Arrowhead (N. Glendale/Peoria), Arcadia and Biltmore areas of Phoenix, Gilbert, I'd say Surprise but I don't know that the schools have quite caught up yet.
