Default Subdivisions and Area Numbers in Chandler/Gilbert

From some of the posts, I have realized that there are some better parts of Chandler and Gilbert, and parts perhaps to stay away from.

I am trying to get an idea of what i can get in a nicer area of Gilbert, aratukee foothills, and/or chandler on Realtor.com. Can anyone tell me what area numbers to look in or subdivisions that are nice for a young family (no graffiti, low crime, good quality of people, and especially GOOD schools).

Thanks for anyones help.

85236 in Gilbert I think they changed the area code since I moved, google it.

Higley Groves, The Highlands, Carol Rae, Val Vista Lakes, Greenfield Lakes, Holiday Farms,Cornerstone,Melody Ranch,Superstition Meadows(nice little hidden one by the golf course in the Circle G subdivision with huge custom homes in the same subdivision but these are affordable. Argritopia, Higley Estates, Towne Meadows.

For Gilbert, stay east of McQueen, south of 60, west of Power.

Agree with both suggestions above. East of McQueen (that'll include some of Chandler too) and west of Power (east of Power will be Queen Creek) and south of 60. You can't go wrong in most of Gilbert.

'Tuke is ok, but you'll pay a lot more for what you get and there's a lot more congestion then southeast Chandler and Gilbert.

Thumbs up Bogle Junior High / Hamilton High School in Chandler

These schools are excellent public schools. My kids went to Bogle. They currently are in Hamilton. We couldn't be happier with the quality of their eductions and the many selections available for their currriculum in both academics and sports.

Most housing in this school area is relatively new. Subdivisions are well planned (neigbhorhood parks, shopping close by, etc.). If you buy further east, prices may be a little lower.

Power Ranch is a nice area in Gilbert - Zip code 85297 - It is a multi-award winning master planned community with parks, 2 clubhouses with pools and catch and release fishing ponds, elementary school and a nice area to raise a family. The neighborhoods are quiet and have minimal crime.

Try areas 501 (Ahwatukee), 504 (So. Tempe), 506 (Central Gilbert), 507 (SO. Chandler), 510 (East Gilbert), 511 (SE Gilbert). There are some subdivisions less desireable than others in all of these areas unless you are on the edges of civilization :-)

The best thing to do...drive it, research it, hang out at the public places near it before you buy!
