Michelle _Edith is on a distinguished road
Default Moving from Mishigan

Hello, I recently was offered a job on 44th, right near the Chineese Cultural Center. My Boyfriend was offered one near the junction of 17 and the 101. We're looking to move to the area, and spend about 350k on a house. Any suggestions about where we can live to minimize both our commutes?

He'll need a large garage, and likely an RV pad (the man owns a bus). So no cute historic bungalos (sigh). I'll need a local coffee shop. We both want safe (of course, no one ever says I want to live in a dangerous neighborhood).

Also, please give advice on specific routes and approximate travel times from any suggested neighborhhods. It seems ot me the key to living in phoenix is to minimnize the commute!

Thanks!

Your best option is to look in the area around Piestawa Peak/Squaw Peak, which is about 12 miles northeast of downtown Phoenix. There are mountains in that area with very good neighborhoods and homes that are within the price you mentioned. You'll both be not too far from your work locations, probably about 12 miles for you and 15 miles for your boyfriend. He'll be able to take the Squaw Peak freeway/SR-51, north to the the 101, the 101 west to I-17, and you can take SR-51 south to the 202, then the 202 east to 44th Street.
