Default Now Tucson instead Phoenix....or maybe not...who knows

Back again…. There is a possibility that we’re moving to Tucson instead of the Phoenix area. I’m not too excited about it, as I’ve been researching and been getting more and more comfortable with the thought of being in Phoenix soon. (Go military for changing their minds). I read a lot more negative things about Tucson than Phoenix here on this board, why is that?

And has anyone every heard of Silver City in Tucson? I know there is a Silver City, NM. Is there a neighborhood or area called that in Tucson?

Not sure about Silver City Mel, but I just wanted to give a quick plug for Tucson. Like you've mentioned lots of people seem negative about Tucson but there are lots of people (including me) who think it's a wonderful place to live.

My dad retired from DMAFB several years ago so I know what you mean about military changing minds. ;P

My brother and his wife live in Tucson and like it better than Phoenix, it's usually 10 degrees cooler than Phoenix and it's quieter. I'm younger and single and enjoy the night life of Phoenix more than the scene in Tucson.

My husband and I are moving to Tucson next month from Maryland. We've been out there a few times and like how it feels more like a town than a city. Phoenix definitely feels more city-like in my opinion - which is probably why Phoenix ranks higher for things like night life.

I know there's a lot of negativity on the board, but I've also found several people who love it in Tucson. The people are friendly (which is quite different than the Mid Atlantic region) and it has a much more laid back atmosphere than the East Coast. That's just my opinion, hope it helps.
