I'm still looking for a place to get an apartment. Thought about North Phoenix or Mesa. What is the neighborhoods like in the 85201 area? Any and all info regarding the area would be helpful. Any apartments you would recommend or not recommend would be appreciated also! Thanks!

Where will you be working? What is your budget? How large an apartment do you need?

85201 is the less desirable part of Mesa. If you must live there I would recommend Tempe or go intl East Measa

Which area codes are the best for Mesa? I'm just looking for a small 1 bedroom apartment. I would like for it to have fitness center, pool, basketball court. something less than 600/month.

Why is it between N Phoenix or Mesa? Those areas are pretty far apart...where will you be working?

My friend lives at Gilbert and University, at that point you are just starting to get into the nicer part of Mesa. It feels totally different once you cross the canal. You can still find good deals even in the nicer parts of Mesa within your budget, apartments.com is a good resource.

Haven't exactly found a job yet. I'm waiting to hear back from a few places. One is in SCottsdale on McCormick and the other is in NW Mesa off of 202 N Alma School Rd. So N Mesa and NE mesa considered the nice part Area codes 85213,85215, and 85205?

E Mesa is good too, 85206. If you get the Mesa job and want to live super close, there is a very nice neighborhood NW of 6th Street and Alma School in 85201, right off the canal and right next to Mesa Riverview. It's an older neighborhood with large beautiful homes and I think there are some apartments just south of it along 6th street that seem nice. 85201 isn't the nicest area overall, but is much better than 85202 or 85210.

I'll echo 85206. I lived in an apartment in Solana right on the borderline of Mesa and Gilbert and I have no major complaints. It was a nice area right off the 60 and close to shopping, and doable as far as the drive to work goes.
