Bringing Canadain vehicle to Phoneix and leaving it there
We are thinking of bringing a car down from Canada and leaving it in Phoenix. If we drive it down and then decide to leave it there can we do the necessary steps in Phoenix that is required to leave it there?

Unless you meet the definition of a resident (7 months in a calendar year) I don't think you need to register the vehicle here.
But based on our insurance from BC it wouldn't be valid if the principal location isn't in BC.
We have optional coverage for US travel, but for the near future we plan to drive down and back unless for short trips where we would fly and rent a car.
If we were to leave a vehicle here it would be one we purchase, register and insure here.
Way simpler in the long run.

I'm guessing you have inspection in Canada- are you going to have to drive it back once a year for inspection?

You can probably do it if it's a vehicle that's also sold in the US, and it isn't too old - it has to meet US crash & emission standards. manufacturer of your car - they can send you a letter that shows the vehicle meets us standards, then you'll just need the Canadian title to turn in to the DMV in AZ.
