Default Moving to phoenix by the end of the year!!!

Hi
Me and my husband are moving to phoenix by the end of this year, my husband lived there few years ago and he liked it alot. I have researched stuff and found that rent is decent in phoenix, BUT WHAT AREAS TO AVOID, that i dont know!!! also i know that the job market is not that great there but i like the things i read about the city so far ..... now any body with advice on the areas to look for a house to rent? and the best areas for job search?

There are good parts and bad parts in every direction. The most important thing is to be close to work, but since you don't know where you will be working, that is not possible. Some cities that are pretty much a sure thing for safety, niceness, etc are Gilbert and Chandler and Scottsdale on the east side and Goodyear, Litchfield Park and Surprise on the west. The others, including Phoenix all have excellent areas but you get into this "north of xx street, west of this or that freeway" thing in the older, larger cities.
