I used to live in Phoenix, but never went to the Outback Steakhouse there, only the one here in Prescott, that just closed down a couple of months ago.

Are the ones in Phoenix really good too? Thanks.

IMHO, Outback is ok. I prefer Texas Roadhouse as far as chains go, or, Ruth's Chris if I have some extra cash in the bank. There are plenty of good non-chain steak places, and if you have the time to seek them out, that's the best route to go.

Interesting question, LinaJo

I have eaten at Outback Steakhouses from Seattle to Miami and have always been impressed with their consistent quality and value. Maybe not the highest quality nor the least expensive, however, definitely the best value for the money and above all, consistent.

Since they are a chain they are pretty consistent. I used to go to the Outback on Bell road all the time. I have also eaten at two different locations here in Vegas. All were exactly the same (to me at least). I personally love Outback.

There is a Black Angus near Metro Center (the one at Town N Country closed).
They're pretty good.
Someone mentioned Ruth Chris - always reliable but pricey.
Lots of non chain steakhouses here - suggest looking around.

This was years ago but one Outback Steakhouse we went to, the steak I had was too dry. My sister's boyfriend had to return his steak two times.

My preference is to eat at home most often. Then for the five times I would have gone to a Steakhouse at Outback, I would go to Ruth's Chris on Camelback once. It's far better worth it. Ruth's there gets its steak right. I did not care as much for the Ruth's in Scottsdale.

It's the same boring chain restaurant everywhere.
