I guess if you repeat something long enough, it becomes "true", whether or not it actually is.
Ritchie_az, why don't you quit playing this game? These posts are obvious trolls. They are aimed directly at you like the one the other day that Goodyear had bad air pollution. He KNOWS you are going to get a rise at that and posts it even though it is rubbish. He knows the buttons on a number of us and just deliberately posts things that will get a reaction. I don't know why the mods let it go on, because it is against the TOS, but you make it worse by replying. I don't think it is necessary to set the record straight. Moderator cut: personal attack

I can't believe anyone reading is dumb enough to believe anything posted by EnicAZ or pseudonym Phoenix Air Concerns.
Unfortunately, I think some folks will believe whatever they read on here. I'm not sure why. We see threads all the time: "Is Phoenix really this", "Is Phoenix really that", "I read such-and-such, please tell me it's not true" etc. I just hate seeing so much nonsense posted over-and-over.
But I will quit.
Thank you.

It doesn't take a lot of effort to do some Internet searching for people to find out information about the poor air quality data in the Phoenix area. A quick example came out of the newspaper about the effects the high ozone levels are having on people here:

"ADEQ says ozone is dangerous to everyone. Some health experts used to think ozone just effected at risk groups like seniors, young children and those with respiratory diseases. Not anymore."

Phoenix air quality on top ten worst list

I'm not sure what the conversation is about, but people are free to review the data and to investigate the air quality problems from the sources themselves. If we can all try to do our part, we can at least prevent this problem from getting worse.

You are right and should be encouraged to continue on with your goals. The problems of air quality, especially in the Southwest Valley, affect everyone's lives here. It is something you cannot get away from.

Ritch,

I know what you mean, I wish we could keep the air problems under the carpet, but they come up for too many people. In either case, let us all continue to do what we can to try to keep them from getting worse.

Good information on the list in this article. High ozone has been one of the increasing problem pollutants on the rise in the Phoenix area in the recent past. This one is especially sensitive for all of us, so I can see how trying to combat it's continual rise is an important cause for you.

Especially with the multitude of long-term health problems this causes. In order for this to be a survivable place in the future, the problem trends have to be curbed.

Moderator cut: personal - off topic I also believe it is worthwhile to try to fight a big problem in the Valley. Trying to get a handle on the air pollution, especially in the Southwest Valley, is vitally important to livability here.

Unfortuantely you are correct on this. A number of factors make the Southwest Valley especially prone to air pollution. Some are bothered by the neaby nuclear power plant, but I am more concerned about the other sources.
Thanks for your thoughts on this. You are right that this is another item which has the potential to cause trouble due to its close proximity to Phoenix.
