A condo in central phx somewhere might work. Not sure how many are left that are affordable. It would probably be in an iffy area. You might want to check realtor . com to see what you could find. Good luck!

We need at least a 2 bedroom. I see things on realtor.com but don't know how to check the areas? I've heard so much about crime. On ziprealty.com they have a "check your neighborhood" button and it compares areas with the national average. Some neighborhoods are below, many are WAY above. Also need to be within 30 minute drive if at all possible.
thanks for the advise.

Phx is tough as there are nice areas surrounded by bad areas. It's hard to pinpoint. The valley is so big. And if it's a nice area then it's going to be at least 200k. Your price range is very difficult. A year ago I noticed shacks, literally run down shacks in phx for 90+k. I couldn't believe it. You may have to rent instead.

A two-bedroom? Not very many of those built since the 60's.

A realtor I knew told me a joke years ago...

You know the two things you can't get rid of in Phx?
AIDS, and a two-bedroom house.

Two bedroom is the minimum amount of bedrooms. Also, it seems like it is a good number for condos.
thanks

Hi!

You must give a try to Scottsdale, it's beautiful!! I live on Scottsdale Rd and Frank Lloyd Wright (85255), just gorgeous and with a lots of nice stores, restaurantes, pubs, parks, etc.

It's the best neighborhood by far...and the Boulders as well...but pricey...
