Yes, I am that person. My kids have never seen snow so we thought we would do a day trip to make some snowballs. Where is an easy drive from Goodyear?

Thanks in advance!!

Drive north on the I-17 until you see it, shouldn't have to
go too far, probably about 45 minutes max birth if the 101. Prescott is about 1:15 north of Phoenix and they got 2 feet of snow.

Or take I-10 East to the 202 Red Mountain Freeway, exit country club road north which turns into the beeline highway. Take that up to payson, or continue east of payson to the rim.

I live near I-17 and Carefree Highway.

Earlier tonight, I could see snow on the Bradshaw Mountains off in the distance to the north, so you shouldn't have to drive too far to see it up close.

Wherever you go BE CAREFUL. Take plenty of warm clothes, no tennis shoes as the kids will get their feet soaked and they will be miserable. Warm liquids also. Go for the day but BE PREPARED in the event you get stuck in the snow.

I'd head towards Payson or Prescott. Dress warm, drive safe, have fun!

Take a left off Gurley up Mount Vernon if you want even more as it's 600' higher.
Careful though as even in town it's icy here and only 19° right now.
